The Ya’axché scholarship program presently provides financial assistance to 27 students from its buffer communities to subsidize their high school costs. Students are selected in consultation with primary school principals and village leaders based on merit and need. As part of their agreement to participate in the program, the students meet monthly to conduct community outreach activities including highway litter pick-ups, tree planting, primary school environmental presentations, beautification of the Golden Stream Corridor Preserve, and environmental field trips.

Ya’axché has limited grant funding for its scholarship program. Several students' educations are already subsidized by private donors. When a donor chooses to support a student, a new student can be added to the program using the remaining grant monies. Private donors receive grade reports and letters from their student.

The names of the students still available for private funding are listed below. Click on "profile" to view more information about each student.
