Ensuring that land is managed in a way that will protect the integrity of natural resources whilst allowing local people to generate optimal benefits, both socially and economically is fundamentally important to Ya'axché. The Sustainable Land Use Management Programme is aimed at accomplishing this, directly through exemplary protected area management and by strengthening the ability of local stakeholders to achieve this. The Programme ensures that it is achieving this through comprehensive and multidisciplinary research and monitoring.

The Programme is closely coordinated with Ya'axché’s  Community Outreach and Livelihoods Programme and Advocacy Programmes and our partners.
